Even though you come across a tip that advises you to turn off the Internet while working, you still keep checking out what is happening on social media sites or you spend your time chatting with friends or checking your inbox. The First Law clearly states “objects in motion tend to stay in motion,” and it is a proper foundation for becoming incredibly productive. The foundation consists of the following things – getting enough sleep, meditation, proper diet, and exercise. If you start your day the right way (in motion) you will stay in motion throughout the rest of the day.
Getting Enough Sleep
So many research studies have proven that productivity depends on your energy level. If you get seven to nine hours of sleep every day, you will perform at peak levels without a doubt. But, how can you go to bed on time? With so many things to do around the house, going to bed before midnight may seem like an impossible thing to do.
Instead of setting the alarm to wake you up, set a “night time alarm” that will remind you it is time for bed. When the alarm rings, turn off all distracting electronic devices and go to bed. But, do not forget to set the alarm to wake you up in the morning.
Meditate
This step may seem ridiculous. But, over 1,400 scientific studies have proven that meditation has incredible benefits that increase your productivity as well as your willpower. Meditation is the crucial step for making this system work. Twenty minutes of meditation is ideal, but to a beginner, five to ten minutes will be enough. Browse the Internet for some useful meditation tips. If, in the end, even five minutes turns out to be too much for you, try meditating for just one minute at least.
Exercise
After waking up and meditating, do some exercising. It will not only increase your energy, but also your ability to focus. In addition, working out has been proven to stimulate the growth of new brain cells.
Exercising in the morning is more useful than exercising later during the day because it will give you the “cognitive buzz” that will help you tackle your tasks more easily. Keep in mind that “objects in motion tend to stay in motion.”
Of course, you don’t need to work out for an hour before you go to work. Only five pushups and five crunches are all that it takes. If you start liking working out in the morning, gradually increase the time you spend on exercising.
Proper Diet
Keep in mind that eating right has a tremendous effect on your body and on your productivity. Eating plenty of greens and eliminating processed foods will give you a boost in your energy levels.
